Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation: Best SME Economic Project Partner Jordan 2021

JEDCO

Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) was founded 50 years ago as the governmental body overseeing the development of the country’s private sector. JEDCO forms partnerships with key stakeholders to help MSMEs achieve sustainable growth. The corporation is led by a board of directors from the public and private sectors and chaired by the country’s industry, trade and supply minister. It has established development programmes targeting players in the manufacturing, services and agro-industrial domains. It supports small farmers and agricultural enterprises by improving access to finance, building technical capacities, integrating the value chain, creating jobs and increasing exportation. It offers technical and financial support for first-time exporters and for companies looking to export services. It launched a special support programme in response to the global pandemic to facilitate the exportation of medical supplies and personal protective equipment. JEDCO’s Behmetkom programme gives young pioneers the training, guidance and financial support to transform ideas into viable projects. It established a national bonds programme to lessen the country’s reliance on imports and replace with local products. It also offers support programmes to cover export shipping costs for industrial companies. JEDCO works with local companies to implement international standards of best practice and increase competitivity at the regional and global level. It’s an economic enabler dedicated to enhancing capacities, improving production and boosting collaborations.
