It works with 40 regulatory authorities and 20 national utilities, developing economic analyses, reports, workshop materials and insights. It develops structured analytical solutions for infrastructure challenges and helps governments to establish regulatory frameworks and market designs  that encourage innovation, protect consumers, and bring transparency to decision-making. ECA is currently providing advisory support to the World Bank on the retirement and the repurposing of four coal-fired power plants in South Africa. It is exploring the potential of hydrogen energy in the Energy Community Secretariat. It is also currently supporting regulators in the Middle East and South-East Asia in their price controls for electricity networks. ECA leads a consortium for the implementation and design of energy efficiency regulations in the West Balkans as part of a multi-year framework contracts for the EBRD. It also offers clients modelling and advisory services on investment valuations for RE and battery energy storage assets and supports governments in incentivising investments for a low carbon energy  future. It helps to design and assess decarbonisation initiatives across the supply and-demand chain, to prioritise investment projects. The CFI.co judging panel announces Economic Consulting Associates as the 2021 global winner for the Best Economics Advisory Team award.
