Hero Future Energies: Champion of Growth-Driven Clean-Energy Infrastructure India 2025

HFE

Hero Future Energies earns this distinction for converting clean-energy growth into dependable, economy-shaping infrastructure. In 2025 it commissioned its first green hydrogen project, blending green hydrogen with LPG or natural gas directly at an industrial customer site, demonstrating a practical pathway to decarbonise existing fuel systems rather than waiting for wholesale replacement. It also proved that renewables can be dispatchable by winning an Indian tender for Around-the-Clock renewable power: delivery 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with minimum 80 percent renewable compliance in every hourly slot, enabled through an optimised mix of solar, wind and battery storage. This capability elevates renewable power from intermittent supply to firm capacity, accelerating investor and offtaker confidence. The company’s international footprint strengthens the same agenda: projects in fast-growing markets such as Vietnam extend decarbonisation impact, while a UK battery storage scheme under construction embeds it in a mature system where ancillary services—voltage and frequency regulation, peak shifting and capacity support—are valued, sharpening expertise that can be replicated elsewhere. Crucially, growth is matched with local value creation; its planned investment of more than $2bn in Andhra Pradesh supports jobs through construction and long-term operations, complemented by water-positive initiatives, education and skilling centres that build community resilience and economic independence. It is advancing green molecules, targeting methanol and ammonia derivatives. The Capital Finance International (CFI.co) Judging Panel congratulates Hero Future Energies on winning the 2025 Champion of Growth-Driven Clean-Energy Infrastructure Award (India).
