Population projections by country from 2020 to 2025
Falling fertility rates (forecast at 1.9 births per woman in 2100 versus 2.5 in 2019) are likely to result in world population flattening for the first time in modern history. However, African population growth is expected to remain strong. The global median age is expected to rise to 42 years in 2100 (versus 24 in 1950 and 31 in 2020).
