Kay International AMEA commenced operations as a boutique reinsurance intermediary and underwriting management agency in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) in 2016. As the company celebrated its fifth anniversary this December, it announced the addition of a Miami-based office to better serve Latin American markets. Kay International AMEA is the first DIFC reinsurance broker to go from east to west. The group has already established a strong presence in Africa, the Middle East and Asia, working with more than 100 insurance companies. The new wholly owned US subsidiary will help to build a bridge between MENA and Latin American markets. The group has observed attractive parallels between both emerging markets, each moving forward with major development and infrastructural projects — and insurance penetration rates that are still low yet increasing. Kay International AMEA credits its success to the quality of its people and the depth of their passion. The group has an apprenticeship programme that allows employees to rotate within the company and develop different skillsets.
