Over its 200-year history, Ageas has evolved into an international insurance provider with operations in 14 countries across Europe and Asia. Ageas has developed a long-term sustainable growth strategy that capitalises on existing core business while tapping into new markets. The group places sustainability at the centre of decision-making processes and prioritises engagement with all stakeholders: employees, partners, customers and communities. It reviews and adjusts sustainability strategies on a three-year cycle, using external industry standards as a guide to set objectives. The group has a four-pillar focus on product innovation, responsible investing, high-quality employment and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Ageas will scale innovations \u2014 addressing issues like ageing, health, wellbeing and financial literacy \u2014 to create economic and societal value for over 40 million customers. Ageas has set a 2024 target for achieving carbon neutrality for its own operations. By the end of 2020, it had invested \u20ac6.5bn into sustainable projects, like renewable energies and social housing. It has pledged to invest \u20ac10bn by 2024 in projects making a positive contribution to the sustainability transition. It already has real estate and ESG infrastructure projects in the pipeline. The group fosters a work culture of inclusivity, diversity and continuous learning. It has defined ambitious ESG targets and implemented measures to reduce or offset carbon emissions.
