UnionBank has invested in advanced technologies and digital platforms that seamlessly integrate with modern societal demands. It was the first among its peers to start a bank website, introduce a chatbot and establish a fully digital branch. It launched the country\u2019s first electronic savings account and digitalised account opening procedures. UnionBank approaches product design and business development with the goal of improving clients\u2019 lives through meaningful experiences. In August 2022, UnionBank completed the acquisition of US-based Citi group\u2019s retail banking operations in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cfi.co\/countries\/philippines\/\">Philippines<\/a>, resulting in the addition of\u00a0over 1500 employees and a million customers.
