Camlife was founded in 2012 as the first life insurance company of Cambodia. Neak Oknha Kith Meng, the Cambodian business mogul who owns the company, also serves as Chairman and CEO of The Royal Group, president of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Royal Group Phnom Penh SEZ Plc. Camlife is led by CEO Johnson Chai, a seasoned professional with experience at top international life insurance companies. In embracing women leadership, Ms Leang Sovandy and Ms Leng Chenda are two key management staff that oversee Camlife’s sales and finance departments. The company hosted a gala in celebration of its 10th anniversary this year. Camlife leadership commemorated the event by thanking stakeholders — clients, partners and regulators — for a decade of unwavering support and trust. The company credited its sustainable growth to a commitment to provide affordable and accessible financial protection to all Cambodians. Camlife registered record growth of 91.5 percent in gross premium in the first half of 2022, which it attributed to the launch of bancassurance and leverages on the resources of Royal Group companies. Camlife began offering micro insurance products almost two years ago and is now recognised as a specialised, fully regulated micro insurer. Camlife promotes women in enterprise and help SMEs thrive. It also invests considerable resources to raise awareness about the benefits insurance can provide. The CFI.co judging panel presents repeat winner Camlife with the 2022 Best Micro Insurance Company (Cambodia) award.
